D2 Tool Steel is an air hardening, high carbon, high chromium tool steel with extremely high wear resisting properties. The high chromium content provides good corrosion resistance but, like a fine gun it should be cleaned and oiled after use. D2 Tool Steel is usually used by custom knifemakers and is a superior steel that will retain its factory edge for long periods of heavy use. Handles are North American Shed Deer or Elk Crown Burr Antler with Brass guard. This axe will be great for work around the camp site or field dressing game. Hand crafted in the Pacific Northwest.
